Pietro Liò is a Full Professor of Computational Biology at the University of Cambridge and a Full Professor at Sapienza University of Rome. His research develops artificial intelligence
methods for biology and medicine, with particular emphasis on geometric and topological deep learning, graph and hypergraph neural networks, large language models, diffusion models, multiomics integration and precision medicine. He is a Fellow of Academia Europaea, ELLIS and the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association, and has received several research and best-paper
awards. Alongside an extensive publication record, he has supervised numerous doctoral and master's students and has contributed widely to international research, teaching and public
engagement.
